AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) has followed Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) in unveiling different unlimited plans for customers allowing them to mix and match various unlimited data options.
AT&T unveils three pricing levels for fiber customers
The company announced three pricing levels for AT&T Fiber customers allowing them to pick the price and internet speed that fits them. This move was not unexpected considering last month Wave7 Research reported that the carrier had filed a trademark “AT&T Unlimited Your Way,” which is the new offer’s name. All the current and new Internet 100, 300, and 1000 customers will receive unlimited internet at no extra cost. This means more video streaming, internet surfing, and teleconference without more charges irrespective of the speed.
This applies to the Elite, Extra, and Start unlimited plans with four lines for the Elite tier plan starting at $50 monthly per line, including 30GB hotspot data and up to 100 Gb premium data and HBO Max. On the other hand, the entry tier Start the plan with four lines starts at $35 per month for each line for unlimited data, text, and talk. Most importantly, all the plans include access to the company’s low-band 5G network.
More affordable internet for customers through a mix of plans
As a way of supporting customers that have been affected by the pandemic, the company has extended its data coverage waiver for all AT&T Internet and AT&T Fiber customers up to the end of 2020. Cheryl Choy, the SVP broadband product management and marketing, said that with people spending more time at home, they can access the internet fitting their needs. Choy said that they are delighted to introduce affordable internet plans.
Also, the carrier has pitched for personalization features and possible money saver. For instance, it indicated that a family can have one member in Extra, another on the premium tier, and even two children in the Starter plan for around $160 per month. This could save up to $40 each month compared to having everybody on the Elite plan.
