Clarence and SiriusXM partner to improve in-car audio entertainment
The companies will improve and expand the overall driving experience by providing intuitive, conversational accessibility to SiriusXM. This outstanding in-car audio entertainment service provides dozens of channels of customized, ad-free music, as well as sports, entertainment, news, comedy, and much more. In addition, SiriusXM and Cerence have teamed together to bring superior voice technology to more drivers across several OEMs, as well as a more accessible and more standardized alternative for those drivers to tune in to their preferred SiriusXM programs through simple, uncomplicated instructions like “Play ’80s on 8.”
This feature will be available on specific SiriusXM satellite radios, as well as an increasing number of vehicles fitted with SiriusXM’s latest 360L radios and Cerence tech. Additionally, SiriusXM 360L users can use their voice to receive SiriusXM’s live channels and recorded content library.
SiriusXM enhancing the audio listening experience for driver
Sean Gibbons, SiriusXM’s SVP and GM Automotive Product and Engineering, said that they are continuously exploring new ways of making SiriusXM more pleasurable and convenient for customers around the country. For example, he said that the company is making it easier for drivers to access and enjoy the best variety of audio entertainment in the car by partnering with Cerence.
Cerence-powered automotive assistants also employ AI to learn about users, so drivers listening to SiriusXM’s ‘80s on 8′ can be led to fresh programming depending on their interests. Also, Cerence will provide a voice-powered, interactive onboarding tool for new SiriusXM users, informing them of the main features and functionalities.
