Comcast Unveils New Powerful XFi Pod Delivering Enhanced Internets Speeds and WiFi Coverage

Comcast Corp (NASDAQ:CMCSA) has continued to focus on delivering the best connectivity experience matching today’s surging connected devices in homes with the introduction of the new xFi Pod for Xfinity internet clients.

XFi Pod to help families transform homes into offices

The xFi Pod builds in Comcast’s leading connectivity service, which offers advanced cybersecurity protection, WiFi controls, entertainment, and gigabit speed. It is 2X faster compared to the first generation xFi Pods in upwards speeds of up to 500 Mbps and can help customers in elevating their WiFi experience through the creation of a wall-to-wall mesh networking extending coverage in the homes.

In a statement, Dana Strong, the President of Xfinity Consumer Services, said that with families spending more time at home, there has been a surge in the number of connected devices, and as a result, home connectivity has become more important. Since March, the company has witnessed a surge in demand for Pods as families retrofit their homes into movie theatres, offices, and doctor’s offices, among others, as all these activities are done virtually from home.

Enhanced internet speed with new xFi Pod

According to the company, the new xFi Pod has a tri-band WiFi radio that can deliver enhanced speeds and extend the WiFi coverage of the connected devices. Like the first generation pods, the latest pods will continue working with Xfinity’s xFi Gateway to extend WiFi coverage. The Pod also has two Ethernet ports, which will allow customers to connect to a device when desired directly.

Following the unveiling of the next generation xFi Pod, Xfinity has continued offering enhanced solutions meeting the changing needs of the growing number of connected home devices. They are also offering whole-home WiFi coverage pods and gateways, and also, the XFi is capable of controlling all connected devices to the network.

With the streaming sector growing, Xfinity internet customers can also access favorite streaming services and manage connected devices on TV with Xfinity Flex. All Xfinity customers will have access to the Peacock streaming service.
