Microsoft Corp (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Deutsche Telekom have expanded their strategic partnership agreement to help all customer sizes to expedite cloud transformation initiative.
Bolstering Deutsche Telekom’s migration to cloud
The companies agreed to a seven-year collaboration deal to bolster Deutsche Telekom’s cloud acceleration. The telecom company plans to make most of the internal IT workloads cloud-based by 20225 and Microsoft will help in training its employees as part of the partnership. Deutsche Telekom will fast-track its customers to the cloud via Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute and also receiving Microsoft 365 including Teams. Most importantly the company will encourage SAP migration to Microsoft Azure.
For most companies, the cloud is an opportunity to increase flexibility, minimize IT costs, and expedite innovation. Interestingly, to leverage cloud computing one requires a high-performance network that is scalable to meet growing technology demands. The combination of Microsoft’s AI and cloud capabilities with Deutsche Telekom’s Cloud Migration Framework and telecom services will enhance customer productivity. This will enable customers to build resilient and agile operations thus delivering new cloud offerings quickly.
Adel Al-Saleh, T-Systems CEO and DT Board of Management member said that the company is delighted to enter a framework for strategic growth. Al-Saleh said that the partnership will enable Deutsche Telekom to enhance services for its customers. The collaboration will enable the companies to support each other with network build-out and digitalization.
Partnership to enable customers to drive innovations
Microsoft’s Executive VP and Global Sales, Marketing, and Operations president Jean-Philippe Courtois said that there is an urgent need for digital transformation. Courtois said that in the next decade, the performance of the business, be it small or large, will rely on digital transformations made today. He said that the strategic partnership will combine Deutsche Telekom’s network power and Microsoft cloud to enable more opportunities for customers to accelerate innovation, become resilient, and drive success.
