Sprint Corp (NYSE:S) faced a recent churn upturn that has prompted the launch of a new rewards program for all postpaid subscribers bidding to boost loyalty. Besides, it’s a way to rival Mobile Us Inc (NASDAQ:TMUS), which has T-Mobile Tuesdays, AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) with its AT&T Thanks as well as Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ), which has its VerizonUp.
A Friendly Rivalry
Sprint’s new program known as simply My Sprint Rewards, is not different from the others as it offers perks, contests as well as other goodies to all Sprint’s service subscribers. Joining the program comes at an absolutely no cost with a promise of exclusive deals from the carrier and also from a plethora of well-known brands in auto, apparel, electronics, beauty, home, sports, health, travel, and many others.
The offers to be produced weren’t immediately apparent; however, the companies which are listed on My Sprint Rewards web include H&R Block, Sam’s Club, AMC, and Shipt. Therefore, one is prompted to guess what the offer can be, given the type of companies on the list.
Are the Perks Different from Others?
Apparently, Sprint won’t have copied what the others offered, and therefore, it decided to take its way doing it. For instance, My Sprint Rewards app made its debut with a great deal of a free large one-topping pizza from restaurant chain Papa John’s that partnered Sprint for the launch of the app.
Furthermore, My Sprint Rewards includes discounts on film tickets, free gift cards as well as the chance of winning a holiday for two in St. Lucia. Also, it promises to offer some cash back rewards for the money back on specific purchases made which again remain a mystery about the details of the products in particular.
Verizon’s program gives points paying the bills, and for T-Mobile program, they dish out the offers every Tuesday. However, for Sprint, no promises for the new deals but says the new deals will be added to the app regularly from various brands. Perhaps, Sprint launching the program is part of combating a spike in the churn by the operator in recent quarters.
If you’re paying already for Sprint, it may not amount much, but the free program with a free pizza once in a while is worth a shot.
