Telefonica UK Has Selected Nokia Oyj (NYSE:NOK) As Its Service Operation Center Vendor

Telefonica UK is pursuing the transformation of a traditional network-centric operation into a customer-centric operation. The company will use the services of Nokia Oyj (NYSE:NOK), which will act as the Service Operation Center provider. The Finnish wireless equipment maker will play a significant role in offering a steady move to the Telefónica UK. The primary focus will be on customer experience.

The Spanish multinational telco, Telefónica, S.A serves over 32 million customers in the UK. A majority of the company’s customers use the O2 network. They mainly use Sky Mobile, Tesco Mobile, and Lycamobile in Q3 2018. As such, it is counting on Nokia’s flexibility, recommendations and measured trends of success.

Telefónica says it has already transformed three of its markets

Nokia is proud to support Telefonica’s initiatives within an agreed partnership scheduled to run for 18 months. According to Telefónica’s director of network and IT operations at global CTIO, Juan Manuel Caro the company has made positive strides. It has already transformed three of its markets to the point that it has reached the next level of automated customer experience.

Manuel notes, “Telefónica has always aimed to offer the best possible experience to our customers which a reactive network monitoring approach to operations could never guarantee.

It is also worth confirming that network-centric to customer-centric operations is one of the trends growing very rapidly.  On the other hand, Nokia’s solutions and services will give room to Telefonica to achieve a long – desired goal in a very competitive market.
