Toyota has repeatedly spoken about its goal to create a hydrogen society amid the industry’s inclination to adopt electric vehicles. The Japanese company has been studying the markets and reached some exciting discoveries.
Investing in enhanced systems
The most interesting one has to do with many company’s focusing on FC [fuel cell] products in wide-ranging sectors want to invest in ten easily adaptable FC systems. In other words, such companies look forward to buying only those products that they find versatile to their product.
Toyota is also channeling some of its efforts to developing and selling the horizontally and vertically packaged models. It says that the models in question weigh almost 240 to 250 kg (about 530 to 550 pounds), each associated with 60 or 80 kilowatts rated output.
Toyota is undoubtedly one of the frontrunners when it comes to the adoption of zero-emissions technology. It intends to stay at the top of its game with continued investment in packaged fuel cell system modules. Toyota plans to mobile resources in a quest to expand usage of its game-changing technology.
Challenges along the way
The world’s largest automaker admits that it hasn’t been easy getting drivers to fuel cell vehicles. However, it continues to celebrate its successes, a significant one being the unveiling of its revamped Mirai in December.
The Japanese government has been closely following the auto manufacturing segment and trying to help where possible. The significant areas of concern that have been giving the government sleepless nights are the risk of hydrogen explosions, a shortage of fueling stations, and resale values.
The plan is to sell Toyota’s new fuel cell battery system in a compact packaged module. Over the past, the company has been selling out offering the product in separate parts. Users will use the compact packaged module as a stationary power generator. The other way to utilize the product will be to use it in ships, trains, buses, and trucks.
Toyota has been weighing its options for quite some time, and it intends to engage other companies in a quest to get them to buy the module. The company hasn’t disclosed details about the sales target or the price.
