Walt Disney Records releases Soul soundtrack albums

The digital Soul Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and Pixar’s Music From and Inspired by Soul vinyl album Soul Original Score vinyl album will launch on December 18. Soul has been set in two different worlds the ethereal cosmic dominions of The Great Before and gritty New York City. Therefore this called for two music styles that help in defining each distinct world. The original jazz compositions and arrangements for the movie were by GRAMY® award nominee and renowned musician Jon Batiste. The original score is a creation of Oscar® winners Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor to enable drifting between the soul and real worlds.

Interestingly the digital Soul Original Motion Picture Soundtrack features around 42 jazz and score tracks. Jon Batiste’s Music From and Inspired By Soul vinyl album features 22 tracks including Batiste’s cover of the Curtis Mayfield classic, “it’s All Right”. On the other hand, Ross and Reznor’s Soul Original Score vinyl album features 23 tracks.
